The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Nonfilers Supplement is conducted jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It collects information on the characteristics of unemployed individuals (and a subset of those not in the labor force) regarding their UI application status, reasons for not applying for benefits, and, for applicants, whether and why they did or did not receive compensation.
