Summary

The School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS) is the primary source of school-level data on crime and safety for the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The SSOCS is a nationally representative cross-sectional survey of about 4,800 public elementary and secondary schools. The SSOCS is administered to public primary, middle, high, and combined school principals in the spring of even-numbered school years.
