  • Survey of the Week: National Survey of Children's Health.
The NSCH is designed to produce data on the physical and emotional health of children under 18 years of age who live in the US, including information on factors related to the well-being of children, including access to health care, in-home medical care, family interactions, parental health, school and after-school experiences, and neighborhood characteristics. Census and HHS are making several changes to both the survey's methodology and its content - including implementing new SPD15 race and ethnicity question standards and removing response options related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Every time the government makes a change to a survey or a form — or introduces a new survey or form — you have the right to weigh in on that decision. The Take Action! newsletter highlights surveys or forms the government is changing, renewing, or introducing. Click the links to tell the government what you think about the changes they are making.

Note: The Take Action tab of DataIndex.us provides information about even more surveys, forms, evaluations, and records notices than are listed in your weekly newsletter.

Immigration

  • Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility. DHS is proposing to rescind the 2022 final rule on the public charge ground for inadmissibility, which it argues "hamper[s] DHS's ability to make accurate, precise, and reliable determinations of whether certain aliens are likely at any time to become a public charge." As part of the proposed rule, DHS is revising several related forms, including forms used to request and determine eligibility for adjustment of permanent residence status, a form to ensure that the conditions of the bond are fully articulated and met, and the form used to request cancellation of a public charge bond.
